Permanent Lighting in Brentwood, TN: Christmas Light Installation

In Brentwood, where larger lots set the house back from the road, our installers put permanent Christmas and roofline lights in one low track along the eave, so the lit line shows from the street.

Just south of Nashville, the roofline is most of what you see from the street. The work is done by licensed, insured and certified installers, and after that a quiet warm white or a full holiday scene is one tap away.

Who installs permanent Christmas lights in Brentwood, TN?

In Brentwood, Permanent Lighting Solutions handles it, and our installers do the fitting. Lights go into a low track along the eave, cut to the roofline and mitered at every corner rather than bent, so a house reads as one clean outline. The app switches it to a December scene, and estimates are free.

Larger lots, longer views

Brentwood houses set back from the road

From the curb, a house at that distance is largely roof, and a roofline lit evenly from end to end reads as one shape.

Lighting only the porch or the peak over the garage leaves the rest of the house dark, which is the problem a full run of track solves.

Ranch, brick two-story or newer build, the track is cut to fit the roofline the house already has and fastened along it. The lit line follows your eave around every gable and corner. By day the channel tucks under the eave and is easy to miss, and there are no strings of holiday lights hanging all year.

More roof, more corners

Large Brentwood homes: gables, corners and zones

The city's own history page describes Brentwood as a low-density residential community with an open country character, and it records stately homes that go back to before the Civil War. The rooflines here were never all from one era.

Two houses on the same road can be very different jobs. A single-story ranch might have one long eave, where a two-story has dormers, gables and a wrapped porch.

Those take different lengths of channel and different amounts of time, and nobody can count either one from a photograph, so every foot of the roofline is measured before anything is quoted.

On a bigger house the small details carry further. Bent channel kinks and throws the lights out of line, which is why each corner is mitered instead. Color matched to your trim, the channel reads in daylight as part of the roof edge.

The system page shows all of it up close. Zones, wings and a second controller for estate-size houses have a page of their own.

What the lights themselves cost to put up is on the pricing page.

Are permanent Christmas lights worth it on a large Brentwood home?

Yes, and more so the bigger the house. A large Brentwood roofline means a long ladder job every November and January, and a permanent install ends both. The channel goes up once, the same lights cover each holiday and every ordinary night, and coverage on a Brentwood install means the manufacturer's 5-year product warranty and our installers' workmanship warranty.

Christmas lights

Christmas lights installation in Brentwood, TN, done once

In Brentwood, permanent Christmas lights are the roofline lights you run the other eleven months, set to a December scene. The controller brings its own colors for the holidays. If you would rather pick them, it is programmable down to each zone, and once the dates are chosen every holiday on the calendar arrives without anybody touching a ladder.

Permanent lights against seasonal ones covers the rest of that choice.

In early December the sun sets in Brentwood at about 4:33 pm, so a roofline on a sunset schedule is lit for the whole evening, the night of the city's tree lighting included.

Garage, porch and patio

Outdoor lighting beyond the Brentwood roofline

Permanent outdoor lighting in Brentwood covers more than the main roof. A detached garage gives the channel another edge to follow, as do the porch and a covered patio, and the one controller that runs the house runs those too.

With the lights off in daylight, the face of the house is clear. The channel mounts along the fascia or under the soffit, and no fastener goes through the gutter or the roof surface.

An average house takes 8 to 10 hours to install, and house size is what moves it. Ask for the free estimate and the installers measure the whole roofline first.

Plenty of Brentwood lots also light their oaks and front walks, so for the part of the night picture that sits beyond the roofline, see how roofline and landscape lighting work together.

Weather

Frost by late October in Brentwood

NOAA's normals for its Brentwood station usually put the first 32-degree morning in the last week of October, so by the time most people get a ladder out to hang lights, the frost has already come.

The system is built for that year. Each light is seated down inside the channel under the roof edge, and rain runs off the roof as it always has. Every component is UL rated and was tested by outside companies, and the diodes carry a rating of roughly 50,000 hours.

When a storm is coming, leave them up. Upkeep is a rinse when you do the gutters, and the page on looking after the lights spells out the rest.

After the tree lighting

One install, every holiday after

Once the track is up, permanent Christmas lights are only one of its settings. On a regular evening it holds warm white, and it can go orange for Halloween, red, white and blue around the Fourth, or your team's colors on game day. Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, New Year's, Valentine's, St Patrick's and Easter use the same channel with a different color.

A change from your phone takes a few seconds. Set a schedule once on install day and the controller runs it every night, with nothing new to buy and no hanging to do. You can try the presets first, and the app control page shows how it works.

One evening at the library

Brentwood's holiday date for 2026

One Brentwood event on the 2026 calendar is the city's Christmas Tree Lighting, on Monday, December 7, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the Brentwood Library. The Brentwood City Commission hosts it as the start of the holiday season, and the city's listing describes the evening this way:

  1. 4:45 pm

The traditional stories begin with a reading of The Polar Express. Tickets for the holiday reading are limited and are handed out at the Children's Service Desk starting early in November.

  2. 5:30 pm

The Friends of the Brentwood Library serve hot chocolate on the way in, a choir sings, and then the count to the tree lighting begins.

Brentwood's Neighborhood Luminaries are set for Saturday, December 12. The Brentwood holiday lights guide has the dates, and the Brentwood neighborhoods guide covers which streets to drive and when to go.

The full list for the area is on the 2026 holiday lights calendar.

Planning an install around December 7

A tree lighting on the first Monday evening of December makes an easy goal: the house is already glowing when the neighborhood heads out to the library. Installation is scheduled around your property and the weather rather than any date on the calendar, so a December 7 goal needs a head start.

Tell us the date when you ask for an estimate. The installers work backward from it with you, and an early conversation leaves room for a rainy week.

Which Brentwood neighborhoods light up for Christmas?

City Cast Nashville's December 2025 lights guide picked Princeton Hills, Fountainhead and McGavock Farms as Brentwood streets where nearly every home is decorated. A house there with a permanent install joins in without a ladder: one sunset schedule keeps the roofline lit from the city tree lighting on December 7 through Neighborhood Luminaries night on December 12.
