Permanent Lighting in Smyrna, TN

In Smyrna, Permanent Lighting Solutions offers houses permanent LED roofline lighting, and our installers set up the app, whose built-in assistant takes plain words and whose music mode follows the song near your phone.

Smyrna is an incorporated town in Rutherford County, and its Christmas season has two fixed points on the Town's 2026 calendar: a tree lighting at the Train Depot and a Sunday parade on Lowry Street. The permanent LED roofline lighting for its houses is a color matched aluminum channel under the eave, and licensed, insured and certified installers put it up, so it is ready for either date and every night after.

The Sam Davis Home

Sam Davis was born on his family's farm near Smyrna on October 6, 1842. He became a Confederate scout, was captured in Giles County in November 1863 at the age of twenty-one, and was hanged as a spy. In the 1920s the family home became a house museum, and he is buried in the family cemetery on the grounds.

The Historic Sam Davis Home and Museum is a nonprofit run by the Sam Davis Memorial Association. It covers 168 acres in the middle of Smyrna and centers on a Greek Revival home. The grounds hold a second historic house, several outbuildings, slave quarters, the family cemetery and over 100 of the Davis family's belongings. It is open year-round for tours.

Sewart Air Force Base

Sewart Air Force Base, near Smyrna, grew out of the country's preparations for World War II and stayed in military operation until the 1960s. Today the field is a busy commercial airport. The Town's greenway keeps the name: the Sewart Airbase Trailhead is 1.70 miles from the Smyrna Event Center trailhead.

Parks, the greenway and the Depot District

The Town's parks department manages over 800 acres, with twelve parks and twelve miles of trails. Among them are Lee Victory Recreation Park, Sharp Springs Park, Gregory Mill Park, Pioneer Park, J.J. McWilliams Old Rock School Park and Hilltop-Rosenwald Park. The greenway runs 5.7 miles from the Event Center trailhead out to Espey Trailhead, with signs along the way on the history and wildlife of the area.

The Smyrna Train Depot is one of three event venues the parks department offers, with the Rosenwald Community Center and the Assembly Hall. The Depot District is also where the Town holds its BBQ festival, car show and Depot Days.

Smyrna's holiday dates for 2026

For 2026, two Smyrna dates are confirmed, and both come from the Town of Smyrna's own pages.

  • Christmas Tree Lighting: Tuesday, November 24, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Smyrna Train Depot. Admission is free, and the Town promises music, treats and festive performances.

  • Christmas Parade: Sunday, December 6, at 2:00 pm, on Lowry Street. The Town charges no entry fee for people who ride or march in it, and registration closes Friday, November 20.

The Town's annual events page also lists an Easter egg hunt, Independence Day fireworks at Lee Victory Recreation Park, Halloween in the Park at Sharp Springs Park, and a Veterans Day ceremony at the Kuss Memorial in Lee Victory Park on Wednesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. The 2026 holiday lights calendar on this site carries more Middle Tennessee dates.

The Smyrna holiday lights guide pairs the tree lighting and the parade with Rutherford County events close by.

Timing the install for November 24

The tree lighting comes first, so it sets the deadline. A roofline finished by Monday, November 23 is lit the next evening and still lit when the parade starts on Sunday, December 6. Tell the installers which event you want to be ready for and they plan backward from it, with early November leaving room for a wet week.

The December setting

Smyrna Christmas lights, one tap from Halloween

At every corner the channel is mitered, cut to that corner's own angle and joined on the cut instead of bent. The lights sit at a fixed spacing, so the gap between the first two is the gap between the last two. Install day averages 8 to 10 hours, and our installers take the ladders and offcuts with them. Every light is its own point, so if one goes out the rest of the run stays lit. The system page shows the parts, and what to do if one does go out is on the care page.

In the app, a built-in assistant sets the lights from plain words, and music mode follows whatever is playing near your phone. A preset keeps the colors, pattern and motion under one name, so one tap takes the house from red and green to Halloween orange or the Fourth of July.
